Nick Espenan joined LCWater in the Fall of 2023, he is a proud Texan where he spent time in both Houston and Austin. His interest in water law and policy cultivated during his undergraduate years at St. Edward’s University in Austin Texas. In which he advocated for the conservancy of Edward’s Aquifer and Texas blind salamander. Nick attended the University of Wyoming College of Law, where he earned both a J.D. and a master’s degree in Environment and Natural Resources. Throughout law school, he actively collaborated with non-profits and municipalities, focusing on water quality and conservancy issues. As president of the Natural Resources Law Club, Nick contributed valuable insights, such as publishing an article on carbon market policy in the Wyoming Law Review. Nick’s expertise extends to real estate transactions, water court proceedings, carbon sequestration projects, and international carbon markets.
