David Strait joined the LCWater team in the spring of 2021. David is a Colorado native who developed an interest in water and natural resources law while growing up in a small ranching community on the Western Slope. Building on this interest, David attended law school at the University of Wyoming College of Law where he focused his studies on natural resources and real property law. While in law school, David worked as an intern with the Water and Natural Resources Division of the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office through the University of Wyoming Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic. David also interned at the Weld County District Attorney’s Office where he began to develop his skills in trial practice. After law school, David worked for several years at a boutique law firm in Northern Colorado specializing in mineral and surface title examination, real property law and real property transactions.
